Opened by lifelong friends and professional groomers Jill and Ronda, Doggone-It! is a labor of love built from a shared passion for dogs. Since opening our doors in Newton, MA, in 1998, we’ve made it our mission to create a safe, nurturing, and fun space where pets can relax, play, and be pampered.
At Doggone-It!, grooming isn’t just about appearances—it’s about providing individualized care, reducing stress, and using the safest, highest-quality products for every pet’s unique needs. We use natural shampoos and conditioners and specialize in breed-specific cuts (including doodles!). We also offer thoughtful extras like de-shedding treatments, deskunking services, and spa upgrades. For anxious or senior dogs, we take extra care to create a calm, supportive experience tailored to their needs.
Our team brings over 35 years of grooming experience to every session and handles each dog with patience and love. We offer walk-in services, including quick nail trims, and maintain a cage-free, fully supervised environment to help pets feel at ease. Whether it’s a simple cleanup or a full grooming transformation, our goal is to make every visit positive for pets and their people.

As the Owner and Lead Groomer, Jill possesses nearly three decades of grooming experience and an unwavering affection for dogs. She co-founded Doggone-It! with Ronda in 1998 and is renowned for her compassionate demeanor, meticulous attention to detail, and her two Tibetan Terriers.

What grooming services do you offer?
We offer full-service dog grooming, including bathing, haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning, de-shedding treatments, deskunking, and spa upgrades. Walk-in services for nail trims, anal gland expression, and quick trims are also available.
What is included with a full groom?
Every full-service grooming appointment includes a bath with specialty shampoo, brushing, blow dry, haircut, nail trim, ear cleaning (and plucking if needed), and a sanitary cut.
How long does grooming take?
Grooming time varies depending on the breed, size, coat condition, and specific services needed. With our open drop-off in the morning and evening pick-up, we have the leisure to give the old, the nervous, and the very young breaks, rest, and playtime in between to support a positive grooming experience. We’ll call or text when your pup is ready for pickup!
What are your drop-off and pickup times?
Drop-offs are between 8:30 AM and 11:00 AM. If you need a different time, just let us know—we’re happy to work with your schedule.
Does my dog need vaccines to be groomed?
Yes, we require that all dogs have their rabies, distemper (dhpp), and Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccinations. New clients should bring proof of vaccinations to their first appointment or upload proof into the appointment software.
Do you offer dog daycare services?
Yes! Our supervised, cage-free environment allows dogs to socialize and play before and after their grooming appointments. It’s a perfect bonus for active pups.
What payment options do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit/debit cards.
